5 Reasons to Love Virtual Consults

We filmed a video not too long ago talking about 5 of the coolest things about virtual consultations. For those of you who aren’t YouTube connoisseurs (can’t relate), or who are just reading this under your desk and don’t want your speakers to give you away (I won’t tell), we thought it would be a good idea to put it in writing! So here you go, 5 reasons to love a virtual consultation:

Reason 1: It is a more efficient use of the patient’s time and resources.

I know what you’re thinking: “What?! Really?! Do I get the same amount of time with the doctor to figure out if you can help me or not? How is it more efficient if I’m not sacrificing anything?” Well, yes, yes, and absolutely. A virtual consultation does not mean you will get skimped on time with the doctor, in fact, it could mean more time, as you don’t have to find a place to park, sit in the waiting room or navigate through the consultation rooms at our facility. We will simply be online and waiting for you at the time of your appointment. The only thing you will sacrifice is your commute, and maybe a few extra steps on your Fitbit.

Reason 2: It is a more efficient use of the doctor’s time and resources.

Yep, this applies to the doctor, too. The less we have Dr. Holtzen running around from room to room, the more time he gets to spend with you, which is one of his favorite ways to spend time; taking care of our patients.

Reason 3: Easy and Accessible.

Many may worry that they don’t have the technological capabilities to access a virtual consultation. All you need is a smart phone, a tablet, or a laptop with a webcam. We will make everything super simple for you. You just click the link we send you and follow the prompts, easy as that! This will eliminate geographic barriers as well. A lot of people typically have to drive for hours to see a specialist, or have mobility issues, or are at risk for COVID-19 and can’t leave their homes. Now you can access a specialist from your own home!

Reason 4: Environmentally Friendly.

Think of all the fossil fuels required for a long jaunt to our office! If you just hop on your internet-connected device there is no fuel to expend and therefore no emissions. Reduce that carbon footprint!

Reason 5: Communicate more frequently on every level.

The use of technology to communicate allows us to be in virtually constant contact, doctor to patient. We can be there for you via text or video chat, and it’s a lot more simple than having you drive all the way to our facility and meet in-person. This will result in us building stronger doctor-patient relationships, and therefore providing better care. Here at Alpine, premium patient care is what we are all about!
